Active Warrant Search in Rock Island County

A Rock Island County arrest warrant is a written order from the court commanding the arrest of a person (725 ILCS 5/107-1). Per 725 ILCS 5/107-9, a court may issue an arrest warrant if it appears from the contents of a complaint and examination of the complainant or witness that a person has committed an offense. The arrest warrant must:

How to Find Arrest Records for Free in Rock Island County

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office provides arrest records for free to members of the public through its Inmate List. The portal only contains information about current arrestees housed in the Correctional Facility. Users may search by name, race, sex, arrest date, release date, or custody date. They may also scroll through the list to locate a record. Free arrest record searches are limited because they only reveal basic information about the case. They do not have downloadable records, so the requester may need to visit the Sheriff’s Office to obtain copies of arrest records. Free online portals may also contain errors or omissions and do not reveal expunged or older arrest records.

Arrest reports are detailed documents that explain the circumstances surrounding an arrest. They are primarily used for court proceedings, criminal investigations, and internal police documentation. How to Get an Arrest Record Expunged in Rock Island County

Expungement is the physical destruction of an arrest record or the returning of it to the petitioner and to erase the petitioner's name from any public record or official databases or both (20 ILCS 2630/5.2). Only the following types of arrests on criminal records may be expunged:

  • Misdemeanor and felony arrests that did not result in a conviction.

    • The offense is an eligible misdemeanor or class 4 cannabis conviction under the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (410 ILCS 705).
  • Sentences for court supervision if 2 or 5 years have passed since the completion of the court supervision for specific offenses.
  • The petitioner is 25 years or older; their Reckless Driving supervision occurred when they were younger than 25; and they have no other convictions.
  • Five years have passed since they completed their qualified probation.

How Do You Remove Rock Island County Arrest Records From the Internet?

The best way to remove Rock Island County arrest records from law enforcement agency databases is through expungement. Once a person meets the eligibility criteria for expungement, they may go ahead to file the appropriate request form with the Rock Island County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
